To prepare students for the start of their studies, S-Next organised a two-day welcome and academic orientation programme.
The first day began with a welcome session led by Prof. Dr. Mario Vaupel, CEO of Steinbeis University – Schools of Next Practices. The Study Success Management and Marketing teams then introduced students to the university’s new class registration system and presented the range of extracurricular activities and events available both on and off campus.
Students also received their first detailed introduction to the university’s digital learning platform. Prof. Dr. Andreas Aulinger presented the INSIDER e-learning platform and explained how students should prepare for seminars. The session covered the grading system, academic prerequisites, seminar preparation, and the practical use of the platform throughout their studies.
The second day focused on the academic principles and structures that will shape the students’ learning experience. Yoan Tanasale, Director of Competency Transfer and Career Coaching, introduced transfer-oriented learning and explained its central role within the S-Next learning ecosystem. This approach encourages students to connect academic knowledge with challenges from their professional environments and develop solutions with practical relevance.
Dr. Martin Foerster then guided the students through the study and examination regulations, academic requirements, and rules of conduct that apply during their studies.
The welcome programme concluded with students separating into their respective programme groups. Programme leads outlined academic expectations and gave each group a clearer picture of what the next one or two years of study will involve.
The two-day orientation gave the new cohort the tools, context, and connections needed to begin their studies with confidence. As they start their academic journey, they join an international learning community focused on turning knowledge into practical impact.
