Steinbeis University has been a state-recognized degree-awarding institution in Germany since 1998. Since March 2022, it has been legally based in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt and recognized there as a University of Applied Sciences (§105 HSG LSA).

Program Accreditation
Program Accreditation
All Bachelor’s and Master’s programs offered by German universities must be
accredited by the German Accreditation Council (GAC). This includes programs delivered by S-Next on behalf of Steinbeis University.
Our programs undergo external evaluation by accreditation agencies — in
our case, FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration
Accreditation) — together with academic and industry experts.
Final accreditation decisions are made by the GAC and are valid for eight years.
All accreditation reports and decisions are published transparently in the GAC’s ELIAS database.
Steinbeis University and S-Next guarantee that all students study in fully accredited and internationally recognized degree programs.

About Ferdinand von Steinbeis
About Ferdinand von Steinbeis
More than 150 years ago, this economic politician from Württemberg who promoted industrialization famously demanded, “You must rely on innovations and people.” Posthumously considered the father of industrial education in Württemberg, he founded trade schools throughout the state — including the weaving schools in Blaubeuren (1852) and Reutlingen (1855). Having staunchly advocated for a double-sided education — what we now refer to as dual education — von Steinbeis was unique in his acknowledgment that only the combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills could effectively train the industrial workers of the future.
